Morocco Part I

I'm happy to report that we are in Morocco! Morocco was on our places to visit list with a question mark; we weren't sure if we would make it. I'm so glad we bit the bullet and flew in from Marseille.

It is hot here and full of twisty, narrow alleyways. We are in Tangier, staying in the Medina- the old part of the city that is famous for its labyrinth like streets. Everything is very stimulating, from the markets, to the sounds and the heat. We have quickly gotten used to the custom of Moroccan mint tea and look forward to having a use for all of that crazy mint that grows everywhere next summer!

So far we are basically focused on getting our barrings everyday and just walking around, wandering this place. It is so beautiful here and full of personality. I was a little nervous because we had read about how conservative the country is, but we have only had great experiences so far!

The architecture is beautiful here and so is the landscape. The trees, lawns and flowers are cared for so nicely; we always see people out tending to their property.

Typical Caity-in-a-hot-but-conservative-country outfit. Basically pajama pants and a baggy shirt.

The local cuisine is delicious. The food is super fresh and wonderful. We love sweet treats and the photo above is of a tiny citrus tart. Yummy. Looking forward to more adventures in Tangier!
