On to Italy!

We had one day to spend in Milan, as it is where our flight arrived in Italy. I think we made the best of it. First up was Getting Pizza. Turns out this was pretty easy to do. I'm quickly realizing that our Tour of Italy is going to be our Tour of Italian Food. There are just so many good things to eat.

Super cheesy pizza and believe me there is more where this came from

Milan is a big city that is a little difficult to navigate. The streets seemed to be all over the place. This made exploring confusing but fun! We made our way to the Duomo, the famous Milan cathedral. It was beautiful. There were pigeons everywhere (not cool). There was a big food market nearby, so we stopped in for lunch. I had eggplant parm and Rich had a baked rice cake thing. The eggplant was wonderful! Not breaded and fried, but layers of roasted eggplants with sauce and cheese. I will be trying to make it this way when we go home.

Duomo!
Milan was a great place to visit for the day and a fun introduction to Italy! We loved it but were excited to move on and see the rest of (some of) Italy!

  1. The Duomo looks very similar to a church we saw in England, can't remember if it was Bath or York. I'll have to check the pics...
