Auckland, New Zealand

With really only one day to spend in Auckland, New Zealand, we came up with an itinerary to make the best of it (and by foot!). Here we go:
Start out at the nearby rose gardens, which were in bloom while we were there.
Continue on to Auckland Domain, a huge park. Here we stopped by the museum and the Winter Gardens.
One of the best parts about spending the day on foot in a city is getting to meander through neat neighborhoods. Check out this tree! Roots growing vertically on this wall!

We climbed Mt. Eden for some amazing views of the city. It isn't really a mountain, just a pretty big hill.
We also hit up Giapo, the famous (or infamous?) crazy ice cream shop. Was it worth it? Meh, I'd go once for fun and that's probably it.
Auckland was pretty hot but cooled down nicely at night. We had a great time here (plus our neighborhood had a lot of restaurants and smelled amazing in the evening).
